Denison Street, Queens Park NSW
A two storey addition located to the rear of a single storey semi in Queens Park, the site is situated in a conservation heritage area and was next door to a listed heritage item. This addition for a family of four, effectively doubles the living area of the house bringing in light and air to what was once a dark cramped space. The extension opens to the garden and has a dramatic double storey space giving a sense of scale not apparent from the street. Issues of natural ventilation, passive solar accesses and water conservation and storage are all integrated into this development. Click image to see project portfolio

Middle Station, Bathurst NSW
An addition to an existing historically significant rural cottage standing on 150 hectares outside of Bathurst. This extension houses three new bedrooms and a living area and connects the old with the new via a central gallery space. The gallery doubles as an indoor living room in Summer and an enclosed protected central courtyard protected from the Winter westerlies. The steel structure of the extension is simple and cost effective at the same time offering deep verandah spaces reminiscent of the historical building. Click image to see project portfolio

Randwick NSW
A two storey addition to the rear of a single storey free standing house for a family of four, in Randwick NSW. The steep raking roof provides a dynamic two storey space over the kitchen and family room that catches northern light and provides high level ventilation. The design satisfied concern raised by the neighbours over privacy and overshadowing.
